It is my joy to congratulate our community on the opening of the CPU Multilingual and Multicultural Worship Hub.
For many years, our Korean-, English-, and Chinese-speaking communities worshiped faithfully, but largely in separate language tracks. Today, through the Worship Hub, we are learning to gather as one body before the one Triune God. “Worship Without Borders. United in Christ.” is more than a vision statement for a single ministry. It expresses who California Prestige University is called to be.
As CPU grows from a seminary into a comprehensive Christian university, worship remains at the heart of our identity. Students who worship beyond their own language, pray for one another across cultures, and lead together are being formed for ministry and service in a diverse and globally connected world. The Worship Hub is one of the clearest places where that formation happens.
The Worship Hub is not the work of one office alone. From its beginning, it has been shaped by close collaboration across the university. Our chaplaincy and language-track worship leaders plan together, while academic leadership, administration, and operations have taken part in planning, worship observation, and evaluation. Student leaders from each community are mentored to plan and lead worship, and our technical and media staff support the trilingual captioning and online access that allow every worshiper to understand and respond. This partnership ensures that worship is woven into the life of the whole university, not set apart from it.
I want to state clearly that CPU is committed to sustaining this work. Multilingual worship will continue as a regular part of our worship ministry, and the university will support it through staff involvement, facilities, audiovisual maintenance, interpretation resources, and ongoing student mentoring. We will continue to listen to participants, refine our practices, and expand opportunities for shared worship and leadership among all our language communities.
We are deeply grateful to the In Trust Center, whose generous support made this beginning possible, and to the ministry partners and churches who have walked alongside us with their guidance and encouragement. We also look forward to sharing what we have learned with congregations and schools seeking the same unity in Christ.
